Audience Research

Define a culturally sophisticated 16-25 class AB Demographic

Someone from an AB demographic means the fashion magazine must target an upper to middle class audience. Their salaries would be above the average pay with their earnings being above £35,000 with jobs that are administrative and professional e.g. managers or secretaries. However because of the age group their parents would be likely to be earning this money rather than themselves.

The term culturally sophisticated suggests the audience are likely to have an interest in being forward thinking and innovative.
A- 4% population
B- 23% population

Profile
What does this demographic engage with?
a)  They may have an interest in current affairs and politics - likely to be culturally knowledgeable and well-educated.

b) Open minded when applied to brief as they will be receptive towards new fashion trends.
